Negative Mass Creates Negative Time
If mass is the origin of time (Part 1), then the sign of mass determines the sign of time. Light (zero mass) experiences no time — mass and time scale together. Cross zero into negative mass, and time itself runs backward in that region.
A Physical Mechanism for Entropy Reversal
Entropy direction is time direction. If the sign of mass sets the sign of time, then it sets the sign of entropy. Negative mass regions are not merely local entropy decreases (as in a refrigerator) but fundamental reversal — disorder returning to order, dispersed energy recondensing, old cells becoming young.
Effective Negative Mass Already Exists
Experimentally realized, 2017 onward: Washington State University's Bose-Einstein condensate rubidium showed negative-mass behavior. Rochester's 2018 polariton system. Bormashenko 2025's polymer-entropy-force configurations. True gravitational negative mass is still never observed, but the door is open — and the research direction is defined.
Time Travel as Identity-Layer Preservation
Standard “physical time travel” runs into paradox because it assumes wholesale translation of a body. This essay proposes a different frame: what travels is not matter but the cognitive integrity of the observer. The body ages forward in our layer; the identity traverses layers. Paradox dissolves because there's nothing to change in the other layer — only to witness.
